Sei Milano

SeiMilano – RACCONTO DI UNA METAMORFOSI
For five years, starting in 2019, the photography collective Urban Reports explored the SeiMilano construction site, documenting its evolution and a new urban front

The images, collected in a book and exhibited at Triennale Milano, capture the complexity of the transformation of a large urban area. They document the full regeneration process and provide valuable insights for contemporary reflections on the city.

The aim of this photographic narrative is to convey the metamorphosis that has taken place over the years, marked by both subtle and significant changes over time. Photography is undoubtedly the most immediate medium for representing these transformations and creating a story that is accessible to a wide audience. The images captured by Urban Reports highlight the broader picture while also revealing the tiniest of details.

The human face of construction

Alongside the documentation of spatial transformation, a narrative emerged that brings together the voices and perspectives of the people who give life to the construction site. These are fragments of extraordinary stories — a humanity in motion, where movement is understood not only in a geographical or literal sense, but also as a path of individual self-determination within a rapidly evolving world of work (…).

The photographic exhibition, set up within the spaces of Triennale Milano and curated by Benedetta Donato, was conceived as a journey through a new landscape — a visual narrative of an evolution that is not only urban, but also deeply human.

A fitting tribute to a regeneration project of such significance — undoubtedly the most important in our recent history — and to all the people who, in various ways, were involved and contributed to making it a reality.
